CCTV SURVEILLANCE

CLOSED-CIRCUIT TELEVISION SURVEILLANCE

CCTV is the live feed from video surveillance cameras to a recorder and monitor. Through the use of Coaxial or CAT6 cabling, similar to the coax used in satellite systems or cable used in computer systems, the surveillance cameras are directly connected to the recording device (NVR/DVR) with the monitor for displaying the video. CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) is a TV system in which signals are not publicly distrubuted, but are monitored, primarily for surveillance and security purposes. CCTV relies on strategic placement of cameras and private observation of the cameras input onto monitors. It’s up to the user to decide between ongoing feed or feed for a specific event or time, as this can alter the amount of storage space on the (DVR/NVR) hard drives.

Typically, you can find CCTV systems in retail and grocery stores to watch for shoplifters, but nowadays homes and small businesses have begun to install CCTV systems for their protection. Jails and penitentiaries also make use of CCTV to monitor the perimeter and inmate activity. Remote access is available so that you may monitor any activity at your location from your mobile device at any time.
